Why choose Ranken for PLC training courses?

Ranken’s Electrical Automation Technology program produces skilled electricians.

Through lecture and shop/lab activities, you’ll spend your first year receiving instruction and training in electrical theory, solid-state electronics and logic control, installing electrical systems, power distribution and the National Electric Code (NEC).

In your second year, you’ll get hands-on experience with single- and three-phase motors, variable frequency motor drives, motion control, ladder diagrams, advanced control logic and industrial control networking.

You’ll also get state-of-the-art PLC training courses. In addition, you’ll be trained in the layout, installation and blueprint reading of commercial and industrial wiring in new construction projects.

Graduates earn an associate of technology or associate of science degree and enter the workforce as maintenance electricians with some of the largest companies in St. Louis.

Career opportunities in the field include commercial/industrial electricians, electrical control technicians and electrical maintenance/service technicians.
