The 40th Annual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference was held on June 22-27 and the SkillsUSA Championships were held on June 25-26 in Kansas City, Mo.
The event brought in more than 15,000 people, including students, teachers and business partners, and more than 5,800 outstanding career and technical education students competed hands-on in more than 100 different trade, technical and leadership fields. This year, more Ranken students advanced to this level than ever before with four individuals, one two-person team and two three-person teams qualifying for the SkillsUSA National Competition. Ranken student Paul Kelley took first place in the CNC Milling contest and many other Ranken students displayed advanced skills in their competitions.
