Is Ranken Motorsports right for you?

You are always chasing perfection and aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty. You love to analyze problems, perform tests, pay attention to the details, and build solutions. You thrive in a team environment, and victory is the only acceptable outcome.
In your free time, you can be found at the racetrack, soaking up the sights, sounds, and smells. You’re always tinkering with something, iterating, making improvements. Your daily driver, your racing sim, or your own project car. You always ask: “Why?”
Does this sound like you? If so, Ranken Motorsports could be the path to a successful and rewarding career.
In Ranken’s Motorsports Technology (MST) program, our specialized hands-on training teaches students how to service, develop, construct, and calibrate a wide range of components and systems found on modern racecars. To ensure our graduates are career ready, Ranken Motorsports immerses students in the culture, environment, and business of racing.

What makes a Ranken Motorsports Technology degree different?

Two years. Five semesters. 100% motorsports. This isn’t a “High Performance” automotive maintenance program that teaches on minivans for a year before you touch a racecar. Ranken Motorsports trains you for real jobs in the racing industry and to do that, you need to learn valuable skills from day one. We use an industry-leading educational model to minimize classroom time, maximize shop time, and reinforce the soft skills employers are looking for.
You will learn the terminology and construction of common racecar systems by inspecting, maintaining, and making performance adjustments. Once you know how they work, build the systems yourself using the metal fabrication, welding, carbon fiber, motorsport wiring, and vehicle system plumbing skills taught in our Fabrication course. Keep building in our Power Units and Calibration courses. Design, machine, assemble, and calibrate (tune) a high-performance powertrain. It’s here that you’ll learn about the systems that collect and display vehicle data, and how that data is used to make a vehicle faster. In the final semester, you’ll apply everything you’ve learned to build and test a vehicle project.
Ranken Motorsports is focused on our students’ employability, and our course schedule prioritizes time for early career building. Professional internship opportunities connect you with teams and employers where you apply what you’ve learned, expand your knowledgebase, and build your professional network. RTC Raceworks, our on-site race shop, gives students extra time to practice, apply, and refine technical skills, promoting skill specialization.
