St. Louis, MO. – Ranken Technical College today announced the appointment of Ranken alumna Shannon Brueggemann to the post of Vice President for Education, effective immediately. The Vice President for Education position is responsible for all educational programming, including degree and non-degree programs, cooperative STEM programming with schools, and instructor selection. Brueggemann will also be responsible for workforce development programming in collaboration with local employers.

“Today more than ever, we see the need for our curriculum to address the various needs of our students first in order to create success within the industries we serve,” offered Brueggemann. “This position will help shape the workforce of tomorrow and it is a great honor to be a part of that.”

Brueggemann graduated in 1998 from Ranken’s Information Technology program and returned full-time in 2014 as an instructor at the Ranken location in Wentzville, MO. The following year, Brueggemann was promoted to Instructional Coordinator and advanced to her most recent position as Dean of Academic Affairs in 2019.

“Shannon is a perfect example of the success we strive for with every student that chooses an education at Ranken. She went right into the workforce with a career she could be proud of and then brought it full circle by coming back,” stated Don Pohl, Ranken Technical College President. “We’re really excited to see what she does in her new role as VP and can’t wait to see how she continues to influence the future of Ranken.”

Brueggemann’s appointment comes at a time when Ranken is looking to increase the admission of more women into technical fields.
