Ron York attended Ranken’s Automotive Maintenance Technology program from 1995-1997. Ron tells us what impact Ranken had on his career and his life. “The biggest part, he says, was work ethic. When I went to Ranken, they were big on your appearance, your attendance, etc. That had a big impact on me. My dad wanted me to go Ranken because their standards were so high.”

Kyle Mitchell, Service Management at Maverick Transportation, explains “Ron came to Maverick in 2008; he was hired in as a B Level Technician. During his five years working on the floor, Ron showed consistent technical and management skills. He was promoted to Shift Supervisor and held that position for three years, when he needed to step down to take care of his family. Ron became an A Level Technician, charged with training new employees. Ron did a great job training new employees, upholding Maverick’ high standards and completing tasks in a professional and efficient manner.

Ron was promoted to our Service Manager in 2020 and has continued to show his leadership skills and ability to assist technicians on the floor. He has taken on the responsibilities of managing our parts department personnel in his facility. Ron has had a cool head and analytical mind which has contributed to his success at Maverick.
Ron tells us his favorite memories of his time spent at Ranken, “I loved engines class. I made several friends there and I really enjoyed the work. The rebuilding and machining elements were my favorite aspects of the program. At home, I like to work on motorcycles.”
