This Friday, February 3, Ranken will host the 2017 East District SkillsUSA Championship. We are excited to welcome visiting competitors and advisors from 7 area schools, as well as judges from area business and industry.
A total of 128 regional students from East Central College, Forest Park Community College, Four Rivers, Hancock, Lewis & Clark, North Tech, and South Tech will visit our campus for the competition, arriving as early as 7:30 a.m. on Friday morning.
Ranken has 38 students competing in 16 contests, which will take place both on the Ranken campus and at Forest Park Community College. In addition, five students will go “Straight-to-State” in Employment Application, and TeamWorks (a team comprised of four students, one each from Carpentry, Electrical, Masonry, and Plumbing).
SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations. It is a partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled work force.

- Welding Fabrication (WF)
Contests will begin at 8:30 a.m. Check-in will take place in the foyer in front of the Carpentry lab (ground floor, Gray building).
