Two grants totaling $30,000 in support of the Student Success Center (SSC) were awarded to Ranken in June.

With a grant of $10,000, the E. Reuben and Gladys Flora Grant Charitable Trust honors the philanthropic ideals of Mr. and Mrs. Grant, who held lifelong interests in education, human and social services, and the arts and culture. The Trust considers funding proposals from institutions located in the greater St. Louis area and has supported Ranken since 1992 with over $56,000 in grants for the SSC and RCDC, as well as past Growth & Expansion campaigns.

Established in 1963 and a dedicated supporter of Ranken’s programs since 1977, the Herman T. and Phenie R. Pott Foundation awarded a $20,000 grant in support of the SSC this year. Over the last 37 years, the Pott Foundation has generously given over $446,000 to the College in support of various programs, including the SSC and various capital campaigns. The Foundation’s grant making process is overseen by an Advisory Committee made up of seven members, four of whom are descendants of Mr. and Mrs. Pott. This Committee determines how funds will be distributed, honoring the values that were important the Potts: children, education, and health and human services. Most of the grant recipients are located in Herman Pott’s adopted city of St. Louis.
