Ranken Automotive students packed Staley Auditorium this morning to see Antron Brown, 2012 NHRA Top Fuel world champion. Brown spoke about how he got started in racing – he worked as an unpaid intern for a racing team – and described his path to success. He emphasized the importance of preparing for opportunities, saying, “Each and every one of us will have an opportunity to do what we want to do in our lives. The only question is, will you be ready for it?”
Brown attributes his success to his work ethic and his willingness to learn from mistakes. “The best person for a job is the person who has made a mistake, because you can be sure that they’ll get it right the next time,” he said.
