The Missouri A+ program provides scholarship funds to eligible graduates of A+ designated high schools who attend a participating community college or vocational/technical school. Qualifying students can receive financial assistance while attending Ranken.

If you think you may be eligibile to take advantage of an A+ scholarship, click on How to Apply below for more details on how you can qualify.

If you participated in the Missouri A+ program at your high school, the qualification process at Ranken is simple:

  • Start by Applying to Ranken. Be sure to answer yes to the question "Are you eligible for A+?"
  • Once you've completed your application, follow the enrollment process outlined on our Admissions Page.
  • Upload your A+ Required Documents HERE. Copies of the following are required for eligibility:
    • Birth Certificate

    • High school transcript with official, unexpired A+ seal
    • If you are unable to submit your documents via the Upload Form for any reason, please email your documents to [email protected].
  • Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You can complete your FAFSA online, or schedule a Financial Aid Appointment if you'd like assistance.
  • After you've received your Student ID, pay your $95 registration fee and submit enrollment documents to receive your schedule and secure your spot in the program of your choice.

After you've completed these steps, your paperwork will be finalized and you will be notified of your acceptance into the Ranken A+ program.

Please note, A+ Scholarships can vary from student to student based your financial status, and on other financial assistance that the student may receive. Rates may also depend on the student’s district.

You may renew your award annually until your eligibility expires. To renew you must complete the FAFSA, maintain a 2.5 GPA and maintain satisfactory academic progress at Ranken.

Your eligibility expires when the earliest of the following occurs:

  • 48 months after the graduation date documented on your high school transcript.
    • Students providing service to any branch of the U.S. armed forces can defer their eligibility (see “Can the scholarship be deferred?” below).
    • Students graduating from high school in mid-year may be eligible for a spring award if their high school transcripts indicate the mid-year graduation date.
  • Receipt of an associate’s degree
  • Completion of 105 percent of the hours required for the program in which you are currently enrolled

If you are an A+ program student who wants to transfer to Ranken from another participating college, you must contact the Missouri Department of Higher Education (MDHE). Just call 1-800-473-6757 and select option 4. Failure to notify the MDHE of the transfer may reduce the total amount you receive under the scholarship, so don’t forget to make the call!
