Certificate of Technology
Students are introduced to concepts through online multimedia training modules, then practice these concepts during a paid internship to gain hands-on experience for a deeper understanding through real-world experience. This blend of classroom instruction, combined with real work offers a superior training program and the opportunity to “earn while you learn.”
This program provides instruction that focuses on ASE medium and heavy-duty truck certifcation tests.
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)
The diesel repair industry uses Automotive Service Excellence credentials to recruit, hire, place, and promote individual workers. ASE certifies individual skills against a national standard. Earning ASE credentials requires technicians to demonstrate their knowledge of diesel repair and to show that they have industry experience.
DSL1000 Diesel Foundations with Internship I
Instruction includes lectures and hands-on experience. Learn how to safely work in a repair shop environment doing inspections and basic repairs.
DSL1200 Diesel Electronics and Engine Controls with Internship II
Learn to diagnose electrical system problems and use scan testers to communicate with vehicle computers. Work in shop to inspect and repair trucks and equipment.
DSL2000 Diesel Brakes and Chassis with Internship III
Identify, diagnose, and replace steering and suspension components. Service and repair anti-lock and air braking systems. Work in shop testing and repairing trucks and equipment.
DSL2020 Diesel Drivetrain with Internship IV
Learn to service and repair automotive and manual transmissions. Work in shop repairing and servicing trucks and equipment.
