Michael S. Adorjan, president of Bates Holding Company, is a St. Louis businessman with decades of experience in the management of technical firms. Adorjan joined Bates in 2001 after eight years with Emerson. At Emerson, Adorjan held various positions, including Market Manager at the ALCO Controls Division in St. Louis. He later rose in the organization to become the Director of Marketing for Emerson Ventilation Products in Lenexa, Ks.

Thirteen years ago, Adorjan returned to St. Louis to bring his astute business skills to Bates Holding Company, where, under his leadership, the business has grown from $10 to $67 million. The Bates family of companies has locations across the country, providing mining equipment and other resources for various types of material mining.

As a member of Ranken’s Board of Trustees, Adorjan contributes his strategic insight and years of business experience. His contributions to this group of dedicated professionals have a continuous impact on Ranken’s continuing growth and success.

Adorjan holds a Master of Business Administration from Washington University and a Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma City University, where he graduated cum laude after majoring in Business with a concentration in Marketing.

With his wife, Lisa, Adorjan has two children: Dillon, 6, and Abigail, 4. He is active in his community, serving on the Board of Trustees at Rohan Woods Elementary School, as well as a number of professional organizations, including the Power Transmission Distributor Association, the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association, and the Missouri Limestone Producer Association.
