Mechanical Drafting, 1966
Described by friends as an honest, personable and smart person, William “Bill” Orrill has been instrumental in helping several young people begin promising careers through a Ranken education over the years.
In addition to his career with Conoco Phillips in Wood River, IL. where he is a Project Engineer, Bill is also very interested in aviation. He holds a private pilot’s license and flies his own plane. He works with Boy Scouts of America and other groups of young people in his area to promote aviation.
As a project engineer, Bill is responsible for many upscale construction projects within the refinery, using both his Ranken training and his post-Ranken engineering degree.
Bill is an oustanding person and employee. He is an example of what a Ranken education can do for a person coming from a farming town in western Illinois.
