Refrigeration, 1951
“Ranken provided me with an excellent basis to begin my professional career. The instructors were very good at conveying their knowledge to suit my needs.”
From 1969-1979 Robert Fish was the president and owner of The Fleiter Corp., a design and build refrigeration contractor. COLD-FLO ice rink systems was a subsidiary of this company and built ice-skating rinks in several states in the 1970’s.
Fish has served as the national president of the Refrigeration Engineers and Technicians Association (1960) and chairman of the education committee which prepared text books for operators of ammonia refrigeration plants. He has been a member of ASHRAE and served on the national program committee in 1972. He was elected as a member of the city council of Kirksville, MO and served from 1978-80.
He has been a trustee of Methodist churches in Springfield, IL and Zephyrhills, FL. Fish has worked on many major projects throughout his career, including: a radar cooling system for NASA (1974); frozen food plants, warehouses and meat packing plants (1960-92); and refrigeration systems for chemical plants (1963-65). He also designed and built 29 ice skating rinks in several states (1970-79); worked on low-humidity systems for supermarkets to lower energy costs (1988-92); and created split system air conditioning systems for mobile homes (1957).
