Refrigeration, 1948
“My Ranken education opened the door to a great career for me; several Ranken graduates were already employed at the company and I joined them. I started as a trainee and retired as President and CEO of GLASCO Electric Co., where I worked for 42 years. My Ranken education prepared me well for this gratifying career.”
Robert (Bob) is a 1948 Refrigeration graduate of Ranken. He started his career at Glasco Electric Company as a trainee in 1949 and eventually worked his way up to the presidency.
He received his Bachelors degree from Washington University in St. Louis by attending evening school while he worked, helping him attain higher positions in the company.
Bob’s career is a wonderful reminder of the results of hard work and stability within a company. He is now retired but remains very active in the electrical industry, volunteering with the St. Louis Electrical Board and as a writer for industry publications.
Bob serves on the Alumni Leadership Council for Ranken Technical College and is an active advocate for employment opportunities for its students.
