Automotive Collision, 1997
”Ranken provided me with the skills and know-how to do my job. It also taught me professionalism in dealing with people so I was able to excel in my career.”
Matt Kuemmel and his two brothers, Brian and Mike, all received the benefits of a Ranken education. Matt’s older brother Mike is a master technician with Auto Tech 2000 in O’Fallon, IL and his brother Brian is a journeyman carpenter with Giddemeyer Construction.
After graduating from Ranken’s evening school program in 1997, Matt began his career as an apprentice at Concord Auto Body. From there he moved on from job to job, constantly striving to learn new things and to better himself and his career.
Though his career was advancing in the world of auto body painting, Matt took a chance when the owner of “Dent Devil,” a paintless dent removal company, admired both the quality of his work and his work ethic and offered him a job. After three years with Dent Devil, Matt again took a step forward by opening his own shop in High Ridge, MO. American Dent Removal, services many body shops and dealers in the St. Louis area, as well as Enterprise Leasing.
The company has grown to three full-time employees - and last year had to temporarily take on 8-10 independent contractors to keep up with demand for services.
Kuemmel gives back to the community by donating to various charities and benefits and he has also given back to Ranken by giving demonstrations of paintless dent removal techniques to collision repair classes here.
Matt credits his Ranken education with giving him not only the knowledge, but also the drive to succeed.
