Ranken... The Next 100 Years!
Message from the President
For over 100 years Ranken has provided quality education and training to the St. Louis region's workforce. Preparing today’s workforce for tomorrow’s technology is a particular daunting task. Ninety percent of all jobs in the next decade will require education beyond high school, many utilizing technologies which have not yet even been created. In addition, technology will render itself obsolete every two years, creating a continuing need for re-training of the existing workforce.
We are also dealing with one of the most diverse workforces in the history of our nation, spanning literally 4 generations. In order to meet the challenges of emerging technologies, generational idiosyncrasies and a shrinking workforce, it is absolutely essential that we begin to plan for the future of Ranken!
To better prepare for these challenges, Ranken is embarking on a strategic planning process. To establish the best possible plan going forward, we must engage all our stakeholders including faculty, staff, students, industry, alumni and community. Each will provide vital information to help Ranken position itself to prepare and train the 21st century workforce.
The strategic planning steering committee, representing these diverse constituent groups, has focused the planning process for the next five years on “quality growth”. Over the next few months, everyone will be ask to participate in the process to determine the best pathway by which to achieve our goals.
Please invest your time and energy in this effort to help make Ranken as successful in future and it has been in the past!
